iOS 11 Compatibility: Check Out Which Devices will Support the Upcoming OS


Just like a new iPhone and iPad, Apple launches a brand new operating system every year. Last year, during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which was held in June, the Cupertino-based tech giant unveiled the iOS 10. And soon after its release, the smartphone based operating system has been a favorite among the fans and the tech pundits. Apple introduced many new features in the iOS 10 which have amazed the worldwide fans.  So now the fans are eagerly waiting for the next installment of this operating system, the iOS 11 to get unveiled.


Just like the previous year, Apple is again planning to launch the new operating system in June, 2017, during the WWDC 2017 event. Apple is going to incorporate many new features in the upcoming iOS 11. The operating system will get a huge Siri update. Apart from that the group video call in FaceTime has been added.  Also you can directly reply from the notifications, a new Doze mode will be introduced and the Apple Pay will come with more security. iPhones which will be compatible with the iOS 11

All the iPhones which come under the iPhone 5 series or above, support the iOS 10 operating system. But that is going to be changed in case of iOS 11. As per the new reports, the upcoming operating system will not be compatible with the iPhone 5 or iPhone 5c. Instead, the iOS 11 will only be compatible with the iPhone 5S or higher handsets.

So, if you want to check your iPhone fall under which series and is compatible with the upcoming iOS 11 or not, then go to the “Settings” of your smartphone and tap on the “About Phone” option. Here you will get all the details on your smartphone. Below is the list of the iPhones which will be compatible with the iOS 11.

Also the new iPhone which will be unveiled in September, will also be compatible with the iOS 11.

iPads which will be compatible with the iOS 11

The current version of the operating system, i.e the iOS 10 is compatible with the iPad Mini 2 and above models. But just like the iPhones, the compatibility of iOS 11 for the iPads is also going to be changed. The iOS 11 will only support the iPad Mini 3 and higher models.
